There is an extensive network of roads through the greenbelt for self-drive game drives on the Estate which prove to be extremely rewarding.

A game-drive map is provided in bush retreat.

Guests can choose to walk on the tarred roads through the Estate or to follow the trails/game-drive routes through the greenbelt. Walking and hiking is at your own risk and should not be done at dawn and dusk, nor by a single person on their own. Children must be accompanied at all times.

Both on and off road bicycle riding is popular on the Estate. There are two cycle tracks on the greenbelt.

Horses are available from the African Dreams Stables on the Estate. Guests can arrange a horseback safari through the greenbelt. An exciting experience, even for those with no horse riding experience.

The Estate is extremely rewarding for birdwatchers. There is a birdhide at each of the three dams.

Fishing is allowed in Fish Eagle Dam on a catch and release basis.

There is also excellent fishing off site at the Klaserie dam.

We will assist with all your off site activity reservations.

A visit to the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a moving and worthwhile experience. The centre provides a home for abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife and is a respected contributor to wildlife conservation. Animals that you may see are lion, leopard, serval, cheetah, hyena, honey badger, eagles, vultures and various baby animals.

Moholoholo started from small beginnings in 1990 – with a crowned eagle and a day old zebra. Word got out that the manager was able to care for and release wild animals and birds, and so Moholoholo grew. Sadly, some of the animals are not suitable to be released back into the wild and remain as ‘permanent residents’ at the centre. They give visitors an ‘up close and personal’ experience, highlighting the problems that wildlife are facing.

Departure times: 9:00, 11:00 and 15:00.
